I’m the worst blogger… but it’s okay
I can’t even count how many posts I’ve written that say ‘I’m finally back’ or something along those lines. Every time I post one of those, I end up writing 3 or 4 posts and then just drifting back into the black hole of writer’s block.
I’m not promising anything at this point because it’s ridiculous.
I don’t even know if this post is going up or not. I’m just writing this as a note to myself.
Writing means so much to me, and it hurts to see that I’m drifting farther and farther away from it by the day. I used to write a post a day or something crazy like that, and now I can barely manage a post every 3 weeks or so. How’d we drift so far away, from where we left off yesterday? (sorry, I had to somehow squeeze 5sos into this)
November is coming up really soon, so I was thinking of doing NaNoWriMo, but with a spin. I still want to stick with the 50,000 words goal, but not really for a novel. I’m planning on writing 1,667 words of blog posts and short stories every day. It’s a bit unrealistic, but I’ll aim for it anyway.
The thing I’m most scared of happening is running out of ideas a couple days into the challenge, so please write down any ideas that you’d like to see. Also, I don’t want to burn myself out, but maybe this is the thing that gets me out of this slum for good.
I’m pretty sure I won’t publish everything I write, but I guess that’s not a bad thing. 1,666 posts a day will roughly equal to 3 blog posts or 1 short story, which is just crazy to me since I haven’t written a post in so long.
The question is though, do I count the short stories I write for school? Because some of them are really good and deserve to see the light of day. I think I will, but it depends.
Why do you want to do this, you may ask yourself (even though I’m pretty sure you already got the point from before)
Well, I’ve been trying to change multiple aspects of my life recently, and writing more is on the top of the priority list.
I also want to vary the types of posts you see on my blog since it’s been the same for so long. I want to have equal numbers throughout all my categories, instead of having 100 book posts and 10 music posts, you know? I’ll also try to keep my posts on the shorter side (300-550 words) because I know no one likes reading a 2,000-word post.
Something I know I’ll have to do is start writing everywhere and anywhere I can, meaning I’ll have to write at school, home, in the car, while I’m sleeping, while I’ve dying… You get the point.
Anyways, that was enough for this post. I just wanted to introduce this whole thing so bloggers can join in if they want. I’m going to be tagging my posts with #nabowrimo (national blog post writing month instead of the usual NaNoWriMo), so if you’re joining in, use that hashtag so we can all support each other.
