The library of Netflix is astronomically enormous in size. Almost every single movie you can imagine is available on Netflix in one country or another. You might stumble upon a few movies that have not made their way to Netflix, but the majority of them do, even ones you might be dying to see. We’ve included seven awesome movies that you need to watch.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Not only is “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” the greatest sci-fi movie ever made, I believe it to be the greatest movie ever produced. After failing to kill Sarah Connor in the first installment, Skynet sends another Terminator, the T-1000, through time on a new mission: to kill Sarah Connor’s son, John Conner. However, the resistance was also able to send a Terminator, the T-800, through time, with his goal being to protect John Connor.
Throughout the entirety of the movie, a cat and mouse game ensues as John Connor and his mother team up with the T-800 to try to terminate the T-1000. “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” packs together epic action scenes with a rather emotional conclusion. Though not widely available, Terminator 2: Judgment Day can be accessed in certain countries.
The same director behind “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” James Cameron, also directed the masterpiece known as “Aliens.” In the sequel to “Alien,” the story follows Ripley—who had been frozen in space for over 50 years—and a group of marines on their quest to eviscerate the aliens that have taken over LV-426.
The reason they want Ripley to join is because she was the sole survivor of the original team that experienced the wrath of the aliens. Of course, they are no match for them, and they have to find a way to get home safely. There is a genuine sense of terror in “Aliens,” and you truly pity all of the individuals who become hosts to the aliens.
“Jumanji” is a movie that has made us shriek in terror every time we play a board game. One day, a couple of kids are exploring a massive mansion. While there in the attic, they find a jungle-themed board game named Jumanji. As soon as they start playing, they realize it’s not an ordinary game. They immediately free a man who had been trapped inside the game for years, but the only way to ensure his freedom is to win the board game.
However, this means they must do battle with some of the meanest creatures known to man. There are not too many movies that take you on a better adventure than “Jumanji.” Whether you’re in Latin America, South America or Europe, you should be able to find a nearby country that offers this film.
The film that started the legacy of Ghostface remains the very best in my opinion. “Scream” is a very simple movie that follows a psychopath (Ghostface) as he begins to attack individuals at random, but he always plays a trivia game with his victims before attacking them.
As the movie progresses, it becomes apparent that Ghostface isn’t killing random people. Because he wears a mask, no one knows his true identity. This is until the climax of the movie as Ghostface reveals himself and explains why he killed the people he did. It is intriguing to watch Ghostface at work because he is much more than your typical “bad guy.” Though primarily available in European countries, don’t miss out on your chance to stream the film that started it all today.
There hasn’t been another movie with a better cast of characters than “Predator.” At the start of the film, a group of soldiers is hired to rescue a group of politicians that are trapped in Guatemala. Along the way, the crew starts noticing some unusual things.
Eventually they realize they are not there alone and that they are being hunted. The issue for them is they can’t see the hunter because he can camouflage himself with the environment. For the sake of the game, the hunter—who is The Predator—starts killing the crew one by one. It’s up to them to try to find a way off the island because they have virtually no shot of defeating The Predator.
Dumb and Dumber
Perhaps the dumbest movie ever made, no pun intended, is “Dumb and Dumber.” However, the amount of stupidity in this film is what makes it so great. On one of his routine drop-offs, limousine driver Lloyd Christmas stumbles upon a suitcase full of money. To get it back to its rightful owner, he goes on a road trip with his best friend, Harry Dunne.
Along the way, Harry and Lloyd showcase how dumb they truly are. Whether they are playing tag in the car, driving in the wrong direction or trading their vehicle for a mini bike, you can rest assured they will do something idiotic. No matter where you’re traveling this summer, you’re sure to find this movie accessible nearby.
Men in Black
“Men in Black,” much like “Aliens” is centered on the concept of extraterrestrial life. A secret society known as the Men in Black monitors all of the aliens that are on earth. While looking to recruit new members of the team, one of the leaders, Kay, hears about a man, Jay, who tracked down an alien on foot. This impresses him mightily, and he decides to let Jay become a member of the Men in Black.
They then have to turn their attention to a bug that has taken over a human’s body. The bug is trying to find the galaxy that is owned by Arquillians. This galaxy happens to be on Earth, and the Arquillians warn Earth that if the bug escapes with it, they will blow up the planet.
Don’t waste any more time searching for something awesome to watch. All of these movies are available for streaming on Netflix somewhere. If you run into geo-restrictions, don’t hesitate to download a VPN like ExpressVPN to gain access to Netflix’s full catalog wherever you are.
The movies previously mentioned are just scratching the surface of the amount of awesome content on Netflix. What are your favorite flicks to stream on Netflix? Please share in the comments below.
