My Current Addiction: The Lunar Chronicles | Books

Hey, guys! Welcome to another instalment of My Current Addiction!

This time, my current addiction is a book series! And by the title, you can tell it’s the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer!

I’m not a big series person, but I picked up Cinder as I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and then just got hooked!

I’m currently reading Winter, the last book in the series, and I have a review up for Cinder, but the reviews for Scarlet and Cress are coming up soon.

If you wanna hear more about my thoughts, then you’ll have to continue reading!

Series Synopsis:

The Lunar Chronicles is a series of five young adult fantasy novels by American author Marissa Meyer. Each book entails a new take on an old fairy tale, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Snow White.

First Book Synopsis:

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Why I’m an Addict:

If you read my content for so long, then you know that sci-fi is my favourite book genre, so when I heard that TLC was a sci-fi twist on fairy tales, I just had to pick it up!

So basically, so sum up this series, I’m gonna say that it’s an epic, action packed series that loosely retells the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Snow White, while adding some great romance and drama!

While reading this, you will not be able to put them down! I literally marathoned the last 3 books, because after I picked up Scarlet, I just had to read Cress, and after I finished Cress, I just had to read Winter and fairest and so on and so forth.

Be aware of the addictiveness of this series before you pick it up. There are 4 books; Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter; a book about the main villain, Levana, called Fairest; and a book of novellas called Stars Above.

If you like sci-fi, fairy tales, cute couples, and action books, then you’d totally love this series, and thats why it’s my current addiction!

Much love, Rawan❤ …
