Staying Positive | Tips and Tricks, Guest Post

With spring upon us…it’s time to get ourselves out of the gloom of winter and the negative thoughts that sometimes stay with us into spring.

Negative thoughts can be the death of you. They drain energy and happiness from anyone, and are necessary to keep away as much as possible!

So let me share with you, some of my tips on how to stay positive!

  1. Smile!
    Sometimes you just don’t want to. But trust me, go in front of a mirror and just smile for a minute. It will lift your mood automatically and relieves stress. We’ve all heard that frowning takes more muscles than smiling, right? So why not take to those words.
  2. Surround yourself with positive people
    When you’re stuck in a rut, it’s best to talk to people who can give you encouragement and positive feedback. It will help you clear your head and get over a situation quicker. They all say the company you keep defines you, so if you want to be seen as someone who is happy and positive, surround yourself with likewise people!
  3. Help others
    To take the focus off of yourself for a minute, and help someone else, can change your whole day. If you’re having a tough day but help someone else, it will turn your whole day around. You’ll feel better and happier that you helped someone out!
  4. Make a mental or physical list of things you’re grateful for
    I started this, this year, and it has changed me for the better. We take so many things in life for granted or without realizing it is a blessing, so sometimes pausing to count the blessings in your life, can make you happy and realize how much positive is in your life already!
  5. Read, watch, stay positive
    Read books about positivity, or just novels that are happy. Same thing with TV; it will help you stay calm and connected and reduce any stresses in life.
