Hey, beautiful! Today, I’m back with a new type of post!
If you follow me on twitter, then you know that I’ve been writing a couple funny and awkward story times for you!
This one is about the time I tripped over a dog while I was in Italy. It doesn’t really sound that funny, but I swear that when you see what happened, you’ll understand why it’s so embarrassing -and funny-.
I’ll also be telling you why I’m so scared of dogs. Actually, that’s an understatement, because dogs scare the shit out of me.
Okay, so before I dive into the embarrassing details, I’m going to tell you why I’m so scared of dogs.
This happened a long time ago, but I still remember it like it happened yesterday, I swear…
When I was about 4, I went with my Mom to visit my Grandma’s farm/house-in-the-middle-of-nowhere.
Everything was normal until I wanted to go out to play with the animals. Now, is probably a good time to tell you that this ‘house’ had horses and chickens and all those farm animals just roaming around.
I was so excited when I found that there was a dog just walking around. By now, my 4-year-old brain decided it would be a great idea to go and pet the dog.
While I was walking towards this big, dangerous looking dog; it decided to look over at me. At this point, I was only a couple yards away from it.
There was this moment of peace for a couple seconds, but that ended when it started running towards me and barking at the top of its lungs.
Well, I’m sure I didn’t know what that meant at the time, but you know what I mean.
Now, just picture this: a 4-year-old standing in shock while a big dog is chasing her.
I finally woke up from whatever trance of shock I was in and started running for my life.
There was this huge gate that leads to the house, and I actually remember this vividly. I was running away from the dog and fell and scrapped my knee.
My brain was like: It’s gonna eat you now, great job falling…
But when I looked back, I found out that the dog has been chasing a chicken that was behind me all this time.
So, I was never really in danger, but the whole situation was just really scary.
I’ve been scared of dogs ever since, and I don’t really know how people think they’re cute. I just don’t…
*End of Flashback*
Now, let’s fast forward to late March. I’m in Florence, Italy taking a walk and admiring the amazing view of the lake in front of me.
Now, if I have to describe Italian people in 3 words/phrases, I would say: hot, dog-obsessed, amazing cooks.
Me being scared of dogs, it was really bad to be surrounded by dogs every time I go out.
Back to topic. I was taking pictures for my post -which I’ve been putting off for so long, but it’s coming out, I swear-, when I find that there is this really huge wolf-like dog right next to me.
I try to ignore it and just continue taking my photos.
By the time I finished taking my photos, I kind of forgot about the dog. I go to turn around and walk away but end up stepping over the dogs paw/foot/thing.
I squeaked. I sqeeked. In front of a bunch of people. Scratch that. I squealed/screamed in front of a bunch of hot guys. And you know what they did? They laughed.
And the bad thing is after I tripped, I kind of ‘ran’ to the other side of the street so I can put some space between me and this ‘dog’ -more like wolf-.
The funny thing is that the dog didn’t even seem to bark or move actually. It just stood there and looked at me. I’ve never felt so judged by and animal!
Ugh! And after that, the dog’s owner -a really really hot guy-, asked if I was okay. I just kind of nodded really quickly. I’ve never been more embarrassed in front of somebody. I
I’ve never been more embarrassed in front of somebody. Actually, there was another thing that happened that was way more embarrassing, but I’ll leave that story to be told in another story time…
I think that I’m gonna do more of these in the future because it was really fun to write.
Much love, Rawan ❤ …
