My Trip To North Morocco (+ A LOT OF PICTURES)

Hello, and welcome to a new blogpost! Today, I am going to be sharing my photos and experiences from my trip to North Morocco! If you guys don’t know already, I am half Moroccan, so I usually visit family there three times a year. This time my family decided it would be a good idea to take a trip up North the country. We stayed at Chefchaouen, which is also known as ‘The Blue City’ because all the streets and houses are painted blue, as you will see in the photos. We stayed at Hotel Résidence Chez Aziz, and it was beautiful! I have some photos of the apartment, and I would totally recommend you stay there if you ever go to Chefchaouen. We also payed a visit to the akchor mountains where we went hiking. So without further ado, I’ll show you the photos.

(By the way, we stayed at the 10th apartment, if you wanted to know)

OLD CITY -RAS EL MA’A

This is where most of the blue is located. We actually got lost a couple times because all the street looked the same. We had to walk for about an hour to get back to the hotel.

AKCHOR MOUNTAINS

This was about an hour drive out of Chefchawen. We went hiking up the mountain for about 2 hours until we reached the little waterfall. We tried to hike up to the second -way bigger- mountain, but the track got really extreme and we couldn’t finish up. I have a little story to tell you guys after I show you the photos. So let’s just move on.

Okay, so now for the stories…

Story #1: As you can see in the last photo, there are a lot of rocks in the area. So when we had to get to this little picnic place, I had to parkour through some rocks to get to it. I had my phone in my back pocket during this whole thing, and you will know why I’m mentioning this later. So this one part of the parkour, I had to lean on a rock and jump to the other; after I did that, I sat down to relax after almost 3 hours of hiking. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket, and there it was…… MY…PHONE…SCREEN…WAS…SHATTERED!!! I literally gasped so loud that all the people in the are heard me and looked my way. I almost cried for god’s sake! As you can see in the picture, my phone has been shattered, and I thin k that it is because I had to lean on the rock, and the hard material broke the glass screen. I am going to fix it soon, and hopefully my heart with it.

Story #2: As I said earlier, there was a lot of parkour iduring the whole hiking trip. This just means that there a bits where you kinda have to jump from a rock to the other to get across the river. So when we started the track for the second waterfall -where the tracks got extreme– there was a lot more water and parkour bits. Me being me, wanted to go fast after I’ve gone through a couple bits. When I started to get a bit cocky, I slipped and fell in the swamp water. I wiped myself and continued. I thought I could do it, Oh was I so wrong. I slipped and fell a second time; and mind you, I was wearing jeans and a white blouse. After me slipping in the water, I started going up the track again. That’s when I face planted. SO my blouse went form white to brown and my jeans and shoes, which were already wet, got really muddy. Ihad to walk down the mountain wearing muddy clothes…. with a broken phone….

Overall, I loved this trip and I loved taking the photos that you’ve seen. I love photography, and this place was just screaming that a photo of me. I do recommend you going to Chefchaouen if you have the chance.

If you wanted the information about the hotel, here is their page on Booking.com, here are the directions, and here is their Facebook Page.

I hope you liked this post, and I hope to do more of these in the future when I travel abroad. I love you and see you soon <3.
